There is probably nothing more important in business and in life than building a solid, meaningful network. We all need people to lean on in good times and less than good times so take the time and build and maintain your network. Like anything, it takes effort.
I think social media in many ways is the great platform to energize connectivity although it seems impersonal in so many ways. The rules of the game say you must give to get and that encourages participation, which is a good thing…If you are just a voyeur nothing happens. You must participate!
And, in many ways…building you network is much like an insurance policy that you may have to call in when you need a little help. If you don’t have it in place, it won’t do you much good when your “house” is on fire!
No one teaches you this in school and that’s a real shame because networking is one of those life skills we all need to make it through the day. Like your savings plan, don’t wait, get started today.
