I didn’t think I would be writing about my vacation but even while lounging around the pool and beach there is something to learn.

I have never been to Mexico, but I will certainly go back because it was a great experience and a lesson in customer service for an otherwise commodity product.  Every staff member did a really outstanding  job which made the trip.  This was a well managed operation in order for the culture to permeate every level of the operation from the front desk, to housecleaning, to the guy or gal bringing water at the buffet.  Everyone was pleasant and helpful, no exceptions.  That is the sign of a strong culture and a well run organization.

I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to explain the concept of culture and a client focused approach only to be challenged.  It doesn’t matter if you are a programmer or a client service representative…everything is about ensuring that the client has a great experience…end of story.
