I was with my son Jack, bumping around NYC, and we were in the mood for some good old pizza…on of my must haves when I am in the “City”.
My son identified a place…that looked a little more upscale than what I was looking for, but I went with it…
We sat down, checked out the menu and our waitress came for our order and I asked if they served a Caesar Salad. Now what would you expect in response to that basic question? I didn’t get a “sorry, we don’t but you may like…” No, instead, we got a finger, pointing to the menu and “Those are our salads…” Really?
I thought about it for a millisecond and I asked my son if he thought that was good service and even he got it so I knew I wasn’t being difficult. I said “Let’s go”…and Jack said we can’t…I said “We can do whatever we want and we don’t have to stay if we are not satisfied”…off we went and I let the owner know why we left as well as anyone else I happened to walk by as we hastily but politely left, in search of a better venue. A teaching moment for Jack.
Well, whaddayaknow, we walked a half block and voila!
Everything was perfect about Stella’s. Fate. Don’t settle.
