In the Sunday New York Times business section there is a standing interview with a different CEO each week and one of the questions always asked is how do you hire or what do you look for in your people.
This past week’s Times had an interesting response that I liked. This particular CEO asks prospective employees “How would you describe a great day at work?” There was no specific answer, but this particular CEO looks for the candidate to talk about taking care of customers somewhere in the response to ensure that the candidate is going to be client focused. I absolutely agree with this!
Don’t forget, there is no job, no commission, no referrals, etc….without happy clients. Everyone in the organization should keep this single goal in mind every time they do something that will touch the client.
