I have learned over the years that it’s great to have the best product, but if you want to create a scalable business then you must have the right operating model in place to crank out business and handle a growing client base.
I by no means have the market cornered on the optimal organizational structure but I continue to experiment, move the chess pieces around, and adjust to strive for optimal productivity.
Here is how we run our business and it is working beautifully, like a conveyor belt:
1) Lead Generation
2) Inside Sales
3) Field Sales
4) Account Management
5) Relationship Management
All of these roles are clearly defined so a lead moves through the process and a client comes out the other end. Load and repeat. I urge you all to invest the proper time in this so you have the right organization to maximize production.
We fell short of our revenue goals this month but I am sure we have the right structure so our steady blocking and tackling will harvest big returns over time. Get ready for a huge August and September!
