I was on a panel today in Silicon Valley and had the privilege to share some views on sales and marketing. It was an interesting day – learned a few things, exchanged some ideas, met some new folks, all good.
Our education system fails to emphasize the importance of communication but let me tell you this – communication is the most important skill of all. I can’t tell you how many brilliant people I have met over the years that can’t communicate…..and consequently are confined to their own minds.
Trust me when I say this, learn how to communicate effectively and your career will take off. If you are a salesperson you will sell more. You will become a thought leader. Be heard. Otherwise you will be stuck in the corner with lots of great thoughts and no audience. And, that would be sad, wouldn’t it?
