I hired a new salesperson last week.

If you are leading a sales operation you always need a pipeline just like prospects so you can expand as needed with a vetted group of sales candidates….and it’s always better to hire someone you know.  I have made it my business to maintain relationships with my colleagues as I have travelled and it has served me well.

I don’t care about industry experience so why does everyone want the “perfect” fit? Nonsense, I say!  Find someone who can sell and believes in what you have to offer and you have a winner.  I knew I made the right decision when the words passion and enthusiasm were used over and over again in the first week.  That’s what I look for.  The value proposition can be learned, attitude is special.
