We used to believe that if we did our job and were loyal we would have a job for life, part of the American Dream, right? Well, that dream is gone and it’s now primal existence and if you aren’t looking after your own future you may wake up surprised one day.
Pensions are gone, social security is drying up, we have competition everywhere…It’s not all dire news but it is a different world so if you want more control take some risks and don’t rely solely on your employer for financial security.
I don’t think everyone needs to be an entrepreneur but there are many ways to leverage your assets aside from relying on someone else who will reap all the upside or simply investing in a mutual fund. Actively manage your life and career because no one else will, and you will see the benefits.
