Last night was one of the nicest nights of early summer and I had the privilege to attend the Washington Nationals/St. Louis Cardinals baseball game in DC.

The Nats made a heroic comeback and won the game!  But, the tragedy was – I had the chance of a lifetime to catch a foul ball and I wasn’t paying attention!!!  My friend sitting next to me got his hand on the ball and almost knocked it down (and probably saved my skull…) but the reward went to some other fan. 

I wasn’t ready!  What a metaphor for business.  What happens if you have a hot lead and you don’t get to the buyer fast enough, or you have a great idea that takes too long to get to the market, and on and on and on….

Be prepared at all times so you can catch that “ball”.
