My son is playing baseball, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, tennis right now…
The question is whether this is good or too much? The trend these days is to focus early because the selection process starts at a young age now and kids are forced to choose a sport or two at an early age. No question that focus yields excellence but…

First question is, which if any of the sports does your son want to become a Professional at? If that’s his aspiration in lilfe, find the one or two he’s best at and go for it full out! Can’t be much “fun” for any of you having to meet the obligations of all those activities. Not to mention burning the candle at both ends, well………..! Focus is imperative to be successful at just about anyting in life. Holding a child to the same standard as a professional management person? One might question the wisdom. Don’t you find that people perform better when they are not under so much pressure to perform, especially if it’s something they love to do anyway? Just wondering.
Could you please correct my spelling errors 😉 Having a hell of a time with my ring fingers – both hands!
Thanks…I think we all have to focus at some point if we want to excel, but the question is when, at what age? I still think we need to have a broader focus when we are young.
