My son completed his hockey session today, might mites 3, but unfortunately didn’t pass the skill requirements to move to the next level…
He is definitely getting better with each class but the bottom line is – he isn’t skating enough to acquire the skills so the solution is pretty simple – he needs to skate more.
It’s a process and great results always come from following a process, practice, refinement, repetition. I just don’t think there are any shortcuts in life but many of us these days are looking for quick ways to success in our world of instant access.
Following a good process will allow you to achieve the desired results faster than winging it and looking for shortcuts…What’s the shortest distance between two points?
I think we will go skating again this weekend so we can accelerate the process and who knows what will happen next with some effort.
What process do you need to follow to achieve your goals?

I like the graphic. Simple but spot on! Might have to borrow it for my screen saver.
10,000 hours to greatness (Outliers) is a lot of hours. At 1 hour daily x 365 for 27.3975 years – minus the dent he’s already put in it, hope your son really loves hockey! Get to skating & have fun!

Thanks, yes lots of early mornings…
One of the best things I’ve learned in working for a large org w/ a formal sales process is having “verifiable outcomes”. Before I can progress an opportunity in my pipe I must have ticked various boxes – having a sponsor, access to power etc. best part about it is that I have ammunition to back myself up when invariably a deal goes into a holding pattern and the sales manager is looking to blame someone:)
A process is a guideline to create structure but we musn’t become a slave to the process or how could you ever close a deal on the first call???
