I wasn’t the best student, the most talented athlete, the most talented business person…but I figured out that if I work the hardest and I stay focused on my goal and I don’t give up until I achieve it, I will beat out the other guys.
You know what, I have coached more than my fair share of Ivy League grads along with State School grads, and some with no college education at all….and here is the truth…formal education doesn’t really doesn’t correlate with success. Don’t get me wrong, you have to be smart but hard work wins in the end. A commitment to something you love carries the day.
Reflect on this for a minute and then think about what you do for a living. If you love it, go for it and the sky’s the limit. If you don’t, be honest with yourself and your employer and find something else to do that will allow you to work hard…and then it’s really not work anymore.
